Chaos in the UFC

There has been absolute chaos in the past 48 hours in the UFC. We saw Charles Oliveira pull out of his rematch against Islam Makhachev due to a big cut on his eyebrow. Now we see Paulo Costa pulling due to his elbow surgery. Although Paulo did say he could compete, he didn’t pass the doctors tests.
We now see the highly anticipated rematch between the Featherweight G.O.A.T. Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev. Volk is one of the biggest savages in the sport right now. On ten days notice he accepted a fight against the only person in the UFC to beat him. You can’t get more savage than that. This is what the sport is all about, and I’m so happy we have a champion with a heart like Volk. This is going to be a super fun rematch as last time it was a razor thin decision that could’ve gone either way. This will be another match we’re going to remember forever.
In the Co-main event we were originally set to watch Paulo Costa vs. Khamzat Chimaev before Costa pulled out due to a staphylococcus bacteria infection inside of his elbow which required surgery. Now we are seeing former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman step up to take one of the most feared fighters in the world right now in Chimaev on ten days notice as well. This fight is now definitely a number 1 contender fight for the middleweight championship. This fight has so much more at stake now, considering Usman is coming off a two fight skid and Khamzat is looking to get gold around his waist in 2024. A fight to remember we shall call this bout.
We have to give so much respect to both Volkanovski and Usman for stepping up on short notice. There aren't a lot of guys at the level that they’re at who would’ve taken these fights, but these guys are a different breed. No matter what happens next Saturday we should all be in for a treat.
