Sean Strickland is one of the biggest growing personalities in all of mma right now and will take on Israel Adesanya for the Middleweight title on September 9th. Many are considering this to be an easy fight for Adesanya, and saying that this should be a breeze for him. But are we not giving Sean Strickland the credit he really deserves or are all the critics right?

Title shots for people in the UFC rarely happen and especially for Sean’s situation. You see, Sean isn’t supposed to be fighting, it should be Dricus Du Plessis. Unfortunately Du Plessis suffered a foot injury and needs more time to recover from this injury. Sean is basically the replacement in this scenario now and there’s no way he was going to turn this down.

We’ve seen many upsets in UFC history, the first thought that comes to mind is SIlva vs. Weidman. I understand matchups are everything in MMA but we always have to remember that it only takes one punch to change everything. Strickland is very outmatched in this with almost everything but you know what they say “A man with his back against the wall is the scariest man.”

Now, this doesn’t mean that he will pull it off but we can be sure that he’ll go for it all. He might never get another title shot again, so he needs to be ready to give everything he has inside of the octagon on September 9th.
