Chito Vera has won 4 of his last 5 matches and has put himself in title contention. On the other hand Pedro Munhoz has won only 2 of his last 5 fights. Chito Vera should be able to handle business come Saturday but Pedro Munhoz is a very tough fighter.
Prediction: Chito Vera via Unanimous Decision
Cody Garbrandt (+250) vs. Mario Bautista (-320) (Garbrandt pulled off/Da'mon Blackshear stepped in)
Cody Garbrandt hasn’t looked the same as he once was only winning 2 of his last 5 matchups. Mario Bautista on the other side has won 4 of his last 5 matches and has won 4 in a row. We expect Mario Bautista to prove himself against Garbrandt and to make a statement.
Prediction: Mario Bautista via 2nd round TKO
The young Irish prospect Ian Machado Garry is looking to crack into the top 10 against Neil Magny. Garry has won every match in the UFC and this will be his toughest matchup to date. Magny has won 3 of his last 5 and has shown extreme toughness so this should be a very fun matchup. That being said, we expect Ian Machado Garry to have a great performance and make himself one of the bright stars in the UFC.
Prediction: Ian Machado Garry via 2nd Round KO
C Zhang Weili (-340) vs #5 Amanda Lemos (+265)
Zhang Welli is an absolute machine winning her last 2 matches in the 2nd round. Amanda Lemos is no joke though, winning her last 4 of her last 5 matchups she is a legitimate threat to take the title off Zhang Welli. I do expect Welli to use a lot of her wrestling due to Amanda’s weak grappling game. Amanda should be expecting the wrestling to be a big factor in this fight and should try her best to keep this fight off the ground. We expect Zhang Welli to take this to the ground, show off her grappling skills, and submit her.
Prediction: Zhang Welli via 3rd round Submission (Rear Naked Choke)
C Aljamain Sterling (-250) vs. #1 Sean O’Malley (+205)
In this fight it can either go two ways. The first way is Sterling putting a wrestling clinic on O’Malley or O’Malley can shock the world and knock him out. This is a very fun matchup and one of the most anticipated fights of the year. Sterling has solidified himself as one of the greatest if not the greatest bantamweight of all time. Sterling is one of the best wrestlers and cardio machines in the UFC defeating Henry Cejudo, T.J. Dillashaw and Petr Yan in his last 3 matches. O’Malley’s rise has been so much fun to watch. He hasn’t been in one boring fight in his UFC career. His phenomenal and creative striking always makes a recipe for a fun fight. This fight to us is a toss up and we can see it going both ways. But we think that an upset is a very big possibility.
Prediction: Sean O’Malley via 3rd round TKO
